Abstract :
Peer-to-peer overlay is an attractive solution to distribute video streams over large-scale IP networks. A number of algorithms and frameworks have been proposed. But generic and theoretical analysis of P2P streaming is scarce in the literature. In this paper, we present a novel probability model, making the formal analysis and performance evaluation of P2P IPTV accessible. With the help of the proposed model, we then reveal that the efficiency of P2P streaming system is closely correlated to piece diversity.
