Abstract
An implementation scheme of a versatile test bench for hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is presented by this paper, the configuration and functions of the system, and the selections of the sub-systems are discussed in detail. As a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system, the critical components such as the engine and motors in the bench are implemented with real systems, on the contrary, the battery and gearbox are realized by software models. The test bench is capable of fulfilling simulation and test of the operation of series HEVs and parallel HEVs, verifying different HEV control strategies. Meantime, it could be applied to test the characteristic map of the engine and motors in the bench as well as they could be used in HEV.
