Abstract :
Trees´ computer modeling has been widely used in the construction of a virtual natural scene. Poplar, as a common tree species in mid-latitude region, is very essential in real landscape. Up to now, in the models libraries of many commonly used applications on tree growth simulation, it is hard to find poplar species models. In this paper, the result of analysis and statistics on measured shape parameters and data trends of some 3-year Populur × euramericana cv. “74/76” (Poplar 107) trees was shown at first. And then models of Poplar 107 were established using a hierarchical parameter modeling method. At the last part, further study was prospected. The established models of Poplar trees can make construction of landscape with poplars rapid and facilitated greatly.
