Abstract
This paper considers the use of a slot antenna in the calibration of a reverberation chamber. In using a slot antenna the need for a balun is reduced which simplifies antenna construction. The behaviour of a slot antenna is compared to a dipole antenna and it is found that the field uniformity results obtained with a slot are more pessimistic than the ones with a dipole. Whilst the slot is usable for calibration of a reverberation chamber it seems that the slot is more sensitive to some field non- uniformities than the dipole.
