Abstract
A closed-form expansion of radiating and non-radiating currents is used in an equivalent inverse source problem, in order to solve the original inverse scattering problem and provide a method for electromagnetic imaging. Preliminary numerical investigation are performed by using a mixed inverse-direct scattering approach. Simulations show the limitations related to the radiating part of the solution and the possible enhancement given by using the non-radiating part. The capabilities of this approach in achieving a good solution to an inverse scattering problem are evaluated and discussed.
