Abstract :
The authors propose a novel approach to the design of adaptive observers for multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems. It guarantees global convergence for joint state and parameter estimation, provided some persistent excitation condition is satisfied. It is conceptually simple and computationally efficient. It can be applied to MIMO linear systems for online continuous-time system identification, fault detection and isolation, and adaptive control
