Abstract :
Semiconductor laser night-vision imaging system can better distinguish between background and car license plate characters by using laser as the light source. The system can realize how to obtain the car´s license at night through image process and image recognition. Several processing techniques such as piecewise-linear transformation, edge detection, and image binarization, can be applied to achieve a better license plate image based on night vision devices,in which image recognition, feature selection, template matching, and other steps should be followed to obtain the license plate identification. The study provides a new method to extract vehicle license plate in real-time based on night-vision equipment, and a new means to recognize vehicle license plate at night.
