Abstract :
Power quality events such as harmonics and voltage variations can have a negative impact on distribution system reliability. This paper presents Spice simulations of power electronics circuits used for power quality improvement. It also discusses adverse effects that power electronics systems can have on a power system. These simulations are used as educational tools for the undergraduate Power Engineering program at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (UPRM).
