Abstract :
The geometrical theory of diffraction (GTD) can be applied to dielectric structures with a surface wave, but it is necessary to solve new canonical problems and to generalize the definition of the diffraction coefficient. As an example of the new canonical problem, we consider electromagnetic wave scattering by an edge of the semi-infinite dielectric slab. It is appropriate to describe the interdependence between amplitudes of the incident waves and scattering or reflecting waves (space and surface) in matrix form. Our task is to find the radar cross-section of the dielectric disk
