Abstract :
We design and implement virtual object selection and manipulation in VE using 3-DOF trackers and data glove, including ray-casting technique using 1 tracker and 1 data glove and go-go technique using 2 trackers and 1 data glove. The cost of these techniques is reduced because they both do not need the 6-DOF tracker that must be operated in a well-prepared environment. User can grab and release virtual object by simple movement of hand and the interaction is more natural since the mouse is replaced by data glove.
