Abstract :
The problem of wave scattering from a rough surface is of interest for numerous applications in acoustics, spectroscopy, and remote sensing. In the present paper the Meecham-Lysanov approach (1956) is generalised for two-dimensional roughness and transferred to the case of a rough interface of two media. For simplicity we shall apply the Meecham-Lysanov approach to the problem of scalar wave scattering from an uneven interface of two media neglecting phenomena concerned with depolarisation
