Abstract
This paper describes a semi-physical simulation system model for an anti-lock braking system (ABS) application. In this system, the wheel speed signal produced by simulation was converted into another signal which the ABS ECU can distinguish. According to the signal, automobile braking pressure is controlled by the ABS ECU. The pressure signal is adopted by the simulation computer and transmitted to the simulation model to calculate some parameters, such as deceleration and instantaneous wheel speed. Then the instantaneous wheel speed is transmitted to the ABS ECU. The virtual road conditions could be changed by setting different parameters, which would cause the change of the control strategy. Then the performance of the braking system in different road conditions could be researched and evaluated. The results show that the proposed semi-physical evaluation system can be used to effectively test and evaluate the performance of braking system.
