Abstract :
A compact diversity antenna adopting 3-D structures for mobile terminals is proposed and studied. The antenna consists of two asymmetric quasi-dipole elements, which are printed on the upper-board, and two side-boards. It has a -10 dB impedance bandwidth of 250 MHz (2.37-2.62 GHz), covering the 2.4GHz WLAN (2400-2483 MHz) and across the whole operating frequency band, the mutual coupling between the two elements is below -17dB. The evaluation of the diversity performance is also conducted by calculating the envelope correlation coefficient and the mean effective gains using the measured radiation pattern data.
