Abstract :
The residual intensity modulation resulting from direct modulation of a diode laser in multilevel dispersion supported transmission systems results in a variation of the equaliser cut-off frequency. Theoretical considerations are drawn about its variations and simulations are used to verify the obtained results. The system sensibility to the magnitude of the variations is also examined and interpreted
