Abstract :
The hybrid excitation synchronous generator which can operate constant voltage over a wide range of speeds has been studied in this paper. It has the same stator structure as general synchronous generator, but the rotor of the generator has two parts, they are the permanent part and the electrically-excited part. Both parts share one armature. The output voltage can be kept constant by regulating the magnet field of the electrically-excited part when the speed of the generator is varied. In this paper, the generatorpsilas construction , basic principles and the design method of it are discussed. A sample generator was developed for experimented analysis, and it demonstrates this kind of generator can keep constant voltage over a wide range of speeds.
