Abstract
The characteristics of the bulk and surface eigen plane waves in a chiroplasma medium are investigated for the case in which the static magnetic field is oriented perpendicular to the propagation plane and parallel to the perfectly conducting boundary. These waves form the full spectrum essential to the solution of the radiation and diffraction problems in the half-space of the chiroplasma media. Some notable features, such as modified pass and stop bands, unidirectionality of surface waves, and their complex attenuation on the normal to the boundary, may be taken into consideration in the design of novel microwave devices and components
