Abstract :
A low cost and high performance NetWare single server system was designed and constructed using off-the-shelf hardware and custom software. This design is based on the network computing OSI model and Novell NetWare ODI model. The application of RAID technology in conjunction with the NetWare ODI protocol enables users or workgroups to share maximum resources on a single server, which eliminates the need for a duplex or backup server. The system design is made more reliable and economical by the selection of high performance hardware and software that are easily upgradeable and expandable as application needs increase
