Abstract
This paper overviews various electrical machine technologies, including brushless permanent magnet, induction, switched reluctance, and brushless reluctance machines, with particular emphasis on the concept of hybrid electrical machine topologies, and compares their relative merits, in terms of torque and power density, operating speed range, over load capability, and efficiency, for application in electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles. electric vehicles.
