Abstract
Target tracking in wireless sensor networks with limited recourses is a challenging problem. Thus, deployment of sensor nodes must focus on power conservation. It is possible to extend the lifetime of a network by node clustering. A dynamic cluster formation algorithm for target tracking in wireless sensor network is proposed in this paper. When a target move to the sensing filed, cluster heads are selected first, then CHs invite their neighboring sensors to form a cluster. Utilizing cluster technology can make good use of each sensor nodes´ limited energy and perform tasks coordinately.
