  • Abstract
Analyzes the effect of gridlock (i.e. alignment) errors on a target track filtering algorithm used for tracking with radar measurements from a remote platform. The case considered is that in which two ships are located in a 2D Cartesian coordinate system, and radar measurements from one (remote) platform are used by another (local) platform to estimate the target position and velocity in the local platform coordinate system. Relative location errors only are considered. The effects of gridlock error on the parameters of the remote platform filtering algorithm, as determined by a set of given design criteria, are investigated. In particular, the effects of gridlock error on the filter measurement gating threshold and filter gain coefficients are analyzed
