Abstract
This paper discusses the importance of the digital virtual assembly process design and the assembly process simulation technology, and it also discusses the product modeling and simulation technology, process modeling and simulation technology which are necessary for assembly procedure simulation. Combing with a specific research project, this paper introduces the crucial steps of the process modeling and simulation technology, namely analyzing the assembly characteristics, process planning, and assembly process simulation of the product object. In order to improve the fast response characteristics, the operation efficiency and the reliability of the manufacturing system, great importance should be attached to the process, namely the assembly process and assembly process plan of the product, which also means the research on the virtual assembly simulation technology and other technologies.
