Abstract :
The authors describe a system calibration procedure for structured lighting machine vision. The method depends on geometric triangulation using a camera and a projector. The procedure is performed once at the initial setup of the system with a simple model. In this process, the extrinsic system parameters are computed by solving a set of linear equations while a size-known gage is required. The results show that the method, when used in the 3-D vision system developed, can produce reasonable accuracy in 3-D inspection
