Abstract :
Line echo cancellation in telephony is presently seeing a renewed interest. This is due to new challenges posed by the recent evolution of the network accommodating packetized voice delivery. We offer an overview of relevant design and implementation issues for voice gateways catering to many thousands of channels. The associated performance and cost issues are also discussed.
