Abstract :
This paper describes a specification approach for feature type catalogues based on metamodelling techniques. Currently catalogues usually lack the capability to describe the precise definition of feature types and their properties in underlying information sources. In contrast, metamodelling architecture allows using the elements and rules of a specialized conceptual schema language for feature types as the fundamental building blocks for the specification of a catalogue suitable for this task.
