  • Abstract
In many researches hematopoietic growth factors are used to stimulate the proliferation of cord blood CD34+ cells. But the proliferation quantity is not ideal enough, the cells are easily differentiated downwards. In this research human embryo chorion(HEC) is used as the culture medium for the observation of its functions in the proliferation of cord blood CD34+ cells. We isolated CD34+ cells from cord blood and cultured it using HEC as the culture medium to measure the quantity, purity and colony forming of CD34+ cells. It shows the 3 indexes of HEC group are all significantly higher than those of HGF group. These data implies HEC has the function of promoting the proliferation of cord blood CD34+ cells. Thus, this research effectively solves the problem of the shortage in cord blood CD34+ cells prior to the transplantation, which enables the wide application of cord blood CD34+ cells transplantation in adults.
