Abstract
Continuous-time adaptive equalizers are made up of all-pass filters and their performance is dictated by the break frequency of these all-pass filters. This paper deals with the development of equalizers which have the capacity to adapt these break frequencies. The performance of these equalizers is evaluated and compared against those which do not have the capacity of adapting the break frequency. Two specific channels, viz, the T3E channel with a data rate of 500 Mb/s per wire and the GigaRing channel with a data rate of 150 Mb/s per wire, are considered and the performance enhancement provided is analyzed
