Abstract
Companding is discussed as it concerns log domain filters. Here, companding is assumed to be implemented via modulation of additive biasing currents. From this perspective, only class AB log domain filters are considered “instantaneously” companding filters. Furthermore, class A and class AB filters are seen to be limiting cases of syllabically companding filters
