Abstract
A new design method using a combination of fixed-point and RNS (residue number system) arithmetics is presented. It is proven that an IIR digital filter can be efficiently implemented in a system that combines both fixed-point and RNS arithmetics. The resulting system has an increased dynamic range and a high operation speed. The new design method applies to an n th-order IIR digital filter
