Abstract
The problem of electromagnetic field excitation near conducting bodies is of great importance for many applications such as high accuracy radiolocation. In the present paper the problem of electromagnetic impulse scattering by an ideal conducting spherical segment is considered. The excitation impulse is produced by an electrical dipole placed on the symmetry axis of the spherical segment. In the solution of this problem the well known integral equation of electric field in the time domain (with unknown surface current density) is used
