Abstract :
As a well-known power generation function, a photovoltaic (PV)-based system for enhancing network steady-state stability is examined preliminarily in this study. The damping action is achieved through independent control of real and reactive power flows in the PV system. Enhanced system stability property of the compensated system is shown through detailed analysis. Impacts of system parameters and operating condition variations on the degree of damping achievable, the robustness of the proposed control strategy in enhancing network steady-state stability are illustrated through computer simulation.
