Abstract
A low-cost medical image processing system suitable to China and other developing nations is described. The system can acquire and process all kinds of medical images in the form of video signals. The processing functions are performed by a single-board computer (Z80 Exerciser II). At present, the system can perform image geometric processing, enhancement, and edge detection and can add characters or marks to the image. After further developments (mainly software) for special applications the system is expected to find many uses in medicine.<>
