Abstract
Coupled fluid-thermal finite element analysis is proposed to analyze temperature field of air core reactor. In order to predict temperature rise accurately, all loss of air core reactor have been computed base on the 2D and 3D magnetic field analysis. Taking all losses as thermal sources, 2D and 3D fluid-thermal coupled FEM models of the reactor have been established according to thermodynamics and hydrodynamics theories. Temperature field of air core reactor has been analyzed and discussed.
