Abstract :
GLONASS, together with GPS, forms the current Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). A high fidelity GLONASS signal simulator is a key instrument for receiver design and verification. It helps early stage algorithm validation and provides controllability and repeatability for receiver testing at relatively low cost. High accuracy signal simulation enables credible receiver characterization before the full navigation system becomes operational, and it shortens the gap between bench-top verification to real field testing of a GNSS receiver. This paper presents the key design concepts of a high fidelity GLONASS signal simulator.
