Abstract :
This paper describes a filter design tool (FDT) that allows the user to design, tune and evaluate tracking filters to track highly manoeuvring targets in the presence of electronic counter measures (ECM) and false alarms using a monopulse phase array radar (MPAR). The goal is to keep track of the target 95% of the time, using the minimum amount of energy possible (maximum time between dwells and minimum energy waveforms). The solution approach used in the filter design tool is based on the interacting multiple model-probabilistic data association (IMM-PDA) Kalman filter, with adaptive time between dwells, adaptive waveform selection and passive standoff jammer (SOJ) tracking
