Abstract :
Downlink inter-cell interference mitigation problem is studied in this paper from the perspective of base station cooperation. The concept of cooperative virtual cell is introduced, and two specific virtual cell planning schemes which enable the reuse one frequency planning are proposed. Evaluation results shows that the proposed schemes balance the distribution of spectrum efficiency for different positions in the cell and improve the performance of the cell-edge users. The min-cooperative scheme also lowers the system outage about 5% compared to the conventional (1, 3, 3) reuse scheme and achieves sector throughput close to the conventional (1, 3,1) reuse scheme.
