Abstract
The various operating modes of a transistorized series-parallel resonant power converter, including multiple conduction modes, are identified. A compact classification of these modes is presented. Two of the predominant modes, with four and two intervals, respectively, are analyzed, and the converter gain for those modes is analytically obtained. The results obtained with analysis and simulation are compared. The peak component stresses are obtained. The converter gain and peak component stresses are plotted against per unit load current. The theoretical and simulation results are compared with experimental results. The type of converter control discussed here can be utilized in power supplies meant to serve a wide range of voltage requirements
