  • Abstract
A HPLC method was developed to determine the concentration of schisandrin in plasma and tissues of mouse. The separation was obtained on a C18 column with a mobile phase of methanol: water (58:42, v/v), UV detector was monitored at 250 nm. The established method was successfully used to the research of pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution of schisandrin after intragastric administration of a 15 mg/kg dose to mice. The results of pharmacokinetic study indicate that schisandrin is quickly absorbed and eliminated. Tissue distribution research shows that liver is the major distribution tissue of schisandrin, which is beneficial to the treatment of hepatic disease.
