Abstract :
The behavior of a harmonic filter when it is unbalanced due to capacitor failure or individual capacitor units out of service is investigated. Formulas are presented for parallel and series resonance frequencies. These formulas are designed to help power engineers understand the behavior of harmonic filters and design harmonic filters more effectively. Analysis results are presented without mathematical details
