Abstract :
The characteristics of cytochrome b gene (Cytb) features in the mitochondrial DNA (mt DNA) from the Penis et Testis of the Cervus nippon Temmink were explored, and a specific method was set up to identify the Penis et Testis of the Cervus nippon Temmink from the bullwhip. The mtDNA were extracted from the Penis et Testis of the Cervus nippon Temmink. A pair of allele-specific primers were designed by the primer design software. The fragment with 306 bp was amplified by PCR from the Penis et Testis of the Cervus nippon Temmink, not from the bullwhip. The Cytb DNA fingerprinting of the Cervus nippon Temmink showed the specificity for identification from the Penis et Testis of the Cervus nippon Temmink and the bullwhip. The method could be used to differentiate the authentic deer-whip from goods sold on the markets.
