Abstract
This paper focuses on the intranet technology as a solution to the organizing of the information system within companies in order to coordinate the activities of the various actors involved efficiently. The functional and organizational structure of companies guides the informational structure of their information system. The methodological basis underlying the design of information systems are presented. In a modular approach, we distinguish between component projects: technical and functional ones. We illustrate our approach through an example of the VNF (Voies Navigables de France) company,. We show how the technical tool built from software components, preserves the various and evolving users´ points of views, and supports the application layer
