Abstract
This study was carried out to investigate the antibiotic resistance and molecular epidemiology of K. pneumoniae producing ESBLs in some major hospitals in Jilin regions. K. pneumonaie isolates were examined for susceptibility to antimicrobial agents. ESBLs were detected by screening and confirming method, PCR, sequncing and conjuation assay. A total of 259 of K. pneumoniae were isolated from three affilated hospitals and one hundred and seventy-nine strains (69.2%) produced ESBLs, the number of eighty strains (30.8%) didn´t produce ESBLs. Among K. pneumoniae producing ESBLs, 37 strains were positive for blaSHV-2 gene, 44 strains contained blaTEM-2 gene, and 22 strains had blaCTX-M-1 gene, 21 strains contained blaCTX-M-2 gene, 19 strains contained blaCTX-M-3 and blaCTX-M-8 gene respectively, 17 strains contained blaCTX-M-9 gene. Imipenem was found as an effectiveness antibiotic against K. pneumoniae isolates. The data indicated a high prevalance of ESBL among K. pneumoniae in this region and their enzyme types were diverse.
