Abstract :
This paper introduces the HITO software tool, an integrated control system oriented to implement hierarchical control in the process industry. HITO is dedicated to control multivariable processes using model predictive control technology connected with distributed control systems running in different operating characteristics. HITO is not only limited to some particular environments, manufacturers, technologists, etc., but also suitable to those complex processes in which the conventional control does not allow an efficient manipulation of control variables. Several modules are available in a single platform: process identification, predictive control, economic variables optimisation, simulation, expert systems in supervision and diagnostics
