Abstract :
The authors focus on the design and implementation of an integral pulse-frequency-modulated (IPFM) controller with a self-tuning Smith delay compensator (SDC) for the closed-loop sodium nitroprusside regulation of postoperative blood pressure. A unified scheme based on the least-mean-squares algorithm is proposed to estimate the plant parameters and transport lag needed to update the SDC model. This recursive technique is suitable for real-time implementation.<>
