Abstract :
The paper presents an algorithm to be used in detection and localization of the voltage notch disturbances in the power-quality signals based on the phase-space reconstruction. The algorithm which is based on detecting events in the phasespace domain using the Euclidean distance calculation is implemented, tested and designed in MATLAB both on simulated power-quality signals with various voltage notch disturbances, modeled according to the IEEE 1159 standard that provides power-quality recommendations, and on real power-quality signals obtained from the PQSoft Waveform Library. The results show that the algorithm successfully detects and localizes disturbances at a sufficiently high accuracy. From simulated signal database and real signals all periodic notch disturbances were detected and localized.
