Abstract :
Electric simulation (ES) was applied to improve the weakness of paralyzed muscles and to reduce spasticity due to strokes. ES was applied to the forearm extensors with surface electrodes. A two-axis electric goniometer and a grasping-power meter were developed to measure dynamic changes of the wrist angles and grasping power under the various stimulation conditions, respectively. Optimal current frequency and waveforms were obtained.<>
