Abstract :
Impulse radio ultra-wideband signal is difficult to detect due to its low power spectral density. Moreover, its extreme wide band makes it hard to digitalize. In this paper, a channelized blind detection based on wavelet packet decomposition is proposed and its detection performance is investigated. Based on the analysis of the detection performance, we develop a new detection threshold. Simulation results show that the detection performance based on wavelet packet decomposition maintains a good performance while it is easy to be implemented. Furthermore, within a fixed alarm probability, the new threshold obtains solid performance improvement.
