Abstract
The application of nonharmonic signals is one of the promising directions for radiolocation development. Serious problems connected with the design of high-efficient radiators, which provide minimum distortions of the form of the current pulses exciting them, arise. In the radiated field these distortions become apparent in two ways. On the one hand, the electromagnetic pulse field strength is proportional to the current pulse derivative with respect to time while, on the other hand, any radiator has a finite passband resulting in additional distortions of the radiated pulse form. So, the radiator passband (i.e., the frequency interval in which the pattern form, polarization and phase characteristics, and degree of matching with a feeder remain in the given limits) should be the maximum possible. At least, it should be not narrower than the frequency interval in which 90% of the radiated pulse energy is contained
