Abstract :
The rapid and accurate detection of elliptical patterns from images is an important aspect of computer vision systems. An efficient method for detecting elliptical patterns is proposed. The method involves the center detection algorithm (CDA), director circle detection algorithm (DDA), and the form detecting algorithm (FDA). The CDA detects the center coordinates using the feature that there are two pixels in central symmetry with opposite edge orientation. The DDA detects the director circle instead of the semi-minor and semi-major diameters of the ellipse to reduce the parameters. The FDA determines the slope and diameters using the director circle
