Abstract
Short pulse, multi-path, intersymbol interference, and high sampling rate in UWB communications pose more challenges in system synchronization. This paper proposes three acquisition techniques to synchronize the system at symbol rate sampling. The reference aided match filter is used at the front end to match the incoming data with the pilot codes. An adaptive post detection integration helps to suppress ISI and provides an easy threshold set-up. A bit iteration search assists in reducing acquisition time. Simulation results show a promising acquisition scheme for UWB communication systems at symbol sampling rate.
