Abstract :
In cognitive radio system, an unlicensed (secondary) user may share a frequency band with its licensed (primary) owner as long as the interference it incurs is not deemed harmful by the licensee. Therefore, a secondary user must take advantage of this fact by some means. In this paper we develop and analyze a cooperative diversity method for cognitive radio, which can let the secondary user to form virtual antenna arrays to achieve dramatic gains in slow fading wireless environments. A close-form expression of the upper bound of selection failure probability is given in the performance analysis. The conclusion is proved by computer simulation.
